Motorized Floor-Rising Projector Screen Setup Checklist

A clean first-time setup prevents most alignment and automation frustration—especially with ultra-short-throw projectors.

A motorized floor-rising screen is mechanically simple to use but deserves careful first-time setup—especially with UST projection. Use this checklist before you lock furniture into place.

1. Confirm the case fits the room

Measure the full chassis width, not just the advertised image diagonal. Leave clearance for end caps, power leads and any side controls. Make sure the screen can rise without hitting shelves, pendant lights or a sloped ceiling.

2. Place the chassis level

A level base reduces stress on the scissor mechanism and makes alignment easier. Do not compensate for a tilted case with projector keystone if you can fix the physical setup instead.

3. Raise the screen fully and inspect tension

Look across the surface from the side. UST users should project a grid and inspect straight lines near the edges. The featured NothingProjector model is described as tab-tensioned; verify the actual delivered surface before the return window closes.

4. Align projector centerline

Start with the projector physically centered and square to the screen. Use the projector's throw-distance guidance for 100″ or 120″. Fine-tune digital correction only after mechanical alignment.

5. Configure the stop height

The NothingProjector listing mentions remote position memory. Set the viewing height so the screen does not rise unnecessarily high and the image remains comfortable from the main seats.

6. Test remote, voice and USB-trigger behavior

Pair the wireless remote first. If you plan to use Alexa, Google Assistant or USB-trigger synchronization, test each feature repeatedly before hiding cables or pushing furniture back against the wall.

7. Confirm safe cable routing

Keep power and signal cables away from moving scissor arms. Do not pinch cables under the chassis. Follow the included manual for voltage, power and service guidance.

Important: This is a planning checklist, not a substitute for the manufacturer's installation manual. Use the supplied manual for model-specific electrical, mechanical and safety instructions.
